Race for a Cure with the Butterfly Walkers at the 2017 AIM Ghana

Join KUSI Consulting and the Butterfly Walkers, Inc. Alliance of Hope for Lupus (AHL) on Sunday, October 29th, 2017 as we race to bring awareness to ‘the silent killer’.

What is Lupus ‘The Silent Killer’?

Lupus, also known as ‘the silent killer’, is a debilitating chronic autoimmune disease that primarily affects women of African descent in the prime of their lives. In lupus, a person’s immune system mistakenly attacks the body’s own cells and tissues. Lupus ranks with other diseases such as multiple sclerosis and sickle cell anemia as a serious world health problem amongst other chronic illnesses. It can cause life-threatening damage to major organs. Unfortunately, there is no cure for lupus; in fact, there has only been one new treatment approved in over 50 years.

About Alliance of Hope for Lupus (AHL)

Alliance of Hope for Lupus (AHL) is a 501c3 established U.S. non-profit organization founded in 2012. The mission of AHL is to educate, support, and supply resources to identify medical treatment options for lupus patients. The AHL is on a mission to educate Ghanaians to live a healthy and nutritious lifestyle. The goal of AHL is to help find alternative treatments to improve the quality of life for lupus patients and their families both in the U.S. and Ghana.

Here is Judith's Story

Why the Accra International Marathon (AIM) Ghana?

We believe AIM is the platform to work collectively to achieve our mission of creating awareness about lupus. The organization, for the past 10 years, has been dedicated to seeing a better Ghana where people are living long and healthy lives past the current life expectancy of 65 years.
