Our client, an international relief and development agency with a presence in multiple countries including the USA and Ghana facilitating healthier, more fulfilling lives in communities struggling with hunger, poverty, disaster, and disease, is seeking a Senior Operations Manager (Ghana) to join the Team.
ROLE DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervise Finance and Operations team at the Africa Regional Office, including Office Manager, Office Assistant, and Transportation Specialist

Responsible for the financial management of Africa Regional Office operations:
-
Liaise with the Vice President of finance to ensure alignment with organizational financial procedures and compliance

Develop and manage the office budget and expenditure
-
Maintain and strengthen banking relationships
-
Strengthen financial record-keeping and timely reporting
-
Ensure month-end close procedures are followed and applied correctly
-
Conduct a quarterly cash flow analysis and request the appropriate cash transfers from Head Office
-
Ensure compliance with local Not-for-Profit and Non-Governmental Organization regulations
-
Oversee office contracts; office maintenance and expenditures; and office assets, including transportation/vehicles.

Lead human resource management
-
Serve as primary administrative contact and support for all Ghana-based staff
-
Supervise and mentor operations staff
-
Responsible for implementation of HR policies and procedures, including maintenance of local personnel files; payroll and benefits management; oversight of local insurance; administration of paid-time-off (PTO) benefits for all Ghana-based staff

Ensure logistical support for meetings held in Ghana, including visits from staff, partner training meetings, and other events
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

Ghanaian citizenship or residency with work authorization is required
-
A minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of experience managing and supervising external audits of international program partners
-
A minimum of three (3) years of experience in non-profit finance roles
-
A minimum of two (2) years of direct supervisory experience
-
Understanding international non-profit accounting and financial requirements essential
-
Proven experience with budgeting and financial reporting
-
Experience with operations management
-
Strong background and experience with audit methodologies
-
Experience in capacity development and systems strengthening is helpful

Adept at managing complex or difficult situations with tact, diplomacy, and good humor

Excellent written and oral skills

Self-starter with strong management and organizational skills

Fluency in English is essential; Spanish, Portuguese, or French is also helpful

SALARY AND BENEFITS
