CORPORATE PROFILE
Our client, one of the leading mining firms in Ghana is looking to recruit an HR & Admin Superintendent. The candidate would implement and oversee the delivery of tactical and operational HR services, policies, and programs to support operational efficiency. This role is instrumental in recruitment, talent management, performance management, compensation and benefits, human resource information systems (HRIS), workforce analytics, and site services (camp management).
ROLE DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Recruitment & Talent Management
o Manage the recruitment and onboarding process, including workforce planning, job advertisements, interviews, and new employee onboarding.
o Develop and execute recruitment strategies to attract and retain top talent for both surface and underground operations.o Analyze workforce trends and recommend strategies to address requisite gaps.
o Collaborate with departmental heads to forecast staffing needs and liaise with the Learning & Development Superintendent to develop succession plans appropriately. o Engage and utilise strategic workforce planning principles and techniques to maintain optimum levels of employee capacity across the business.
o Ensure recruitment aligns with the organizational structure of functional units, maintaining clear reporting lines and job titles to support operational efficiency. o Manage the performance management process, ensuring timely evaluations, feedback and alignment of individual objectives with company goals. -
Compensation & benefits
o Draft comprehensive Compensation and Benefits policies for the operations.
o Liaise with the Industrial Relations Superintendent to design and develop -
Workforce Analytics
o Oversee and coordinate the movement of employees (i.e. promotions and transfers).
o Advise managers on the best approach to handle workforce management issues.
o Oversee the collection and collation of workforce analytics/ metrics on a monthly and quarterly basis. -
HR Information Systems
o Supervise the implementation of the HRIS System on-site and verify the compliance of the system to data integrity processes.
o Contribute towards further system development through making appropriate recommendations / suggestions post-review. -
Administrative Leadership
o Ensure current and future HR operation needs of the site are identified and met by reviewing, improving and monitoring existing company HR policies and procedures and developing new ones, as required, in liaison with the HR & Admin Manager that guarantees best practices.
o Coach Management in the understanding and interpretation of HR policies and procedures.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

Bachelors’ Degree in Human Resource Management/Business Administration or related field.

Master's degree and/or a professional certification is an added advantage.

Minimum of 6 – 8 years’ combined work experience in generalist HR, and specific mining (on-site)/operations experience, of which 2 – 3 years should be in a Supervisory capacity.

Experience in managing structural changes, including mergers/ acquisitions, downsizing, etc., while minimizing disruption to operations.

Experience in collaborating with HR stakeholders such as Unions, leadership, external stakeholders, etc.

Budget preparation skills
Knowledge: -
Relevant mining Industry knowledge, particularly underground mining operations.

Knowledge of modern office procedures and processes.

Knowledge of the Labour Law 2003 (Act 651), Pensions Act, Workman Compensation Law 1987 (PNDCL 187), Pensions Act 2008 (Act 766), and relevant labour regulations and HR best practices.

Knowledge of relevant Mining industry regulations.

Proficiency in HR Software, Microsoft Office Suite, and data analytics tools.

Must demonstrate understanding in talent management systems.
