Summary and Corporate Profile:

A Ghanaian-owned animal feed manufacturing company seeks a human resource administrator and associate to perform all HR-related activities to ensure a harmonious working environment and effective return on investment. 

 

The ideal employee should have knowledge in recruitment, compensation and benefits, and performance management.

Role Description and Responsibilities

Human Resource

 

  • Assist in the development of human resource policies and procedures.

  • Perform the performance management function within the business.

  • Coordinate payroll adjustment and HR budgeting.

  • Develop and implement job descriptions within the organization.

  • Develop and implement recruitment and orientation systems in line with the organizational culture.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant employment laws/ regulations and company policies.

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the human resource office.

  • Ensure employee safety, welfare, and wellness education.

  • Collaborate with department managers on HR related matters.

  • Prepare monthly HR reports including attendance, discipline, HR programs and industrial relations.

Administration

  • Design and implement office policies by establishing standards and procedures and measuring results against standards.

  • Procure the required work tools and equipment (laptops, paper, furniture etc.) in a way that ensures business profitability at all times.

  • Maintain and keep track of all organizational assets and systems including employee data.

  • Properly file employee documents for easy retrieval.

  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements (SSNIT, VAT, WHT, TIER 1& 2).

  • Prepare reports on company assets and inventory.

  • Coordinate the documentation of processes in an SOP (Standard Operating Procedures) Manual.

  • Maintain a directory and contact with office supply vendors.

  • Ensure office cleanliness by coordinating with relevant officers.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Person Specification

Experience and Education:

  • Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management.

  • At least three years of experience as HR administrator and generalist.

Skills:

  • Thorough understanding of the human resource function.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills - The job requires good listening, speaking, and writing skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and related software.

  • Excellent organizational skills, presentation and attention to detail-

  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

  • A hands-on attitude needed to thrive in a start-up environment.
