Summary and Corporate Profile:

Our client, a diverse fast-growing pet grooming company based in Harlem (the heart of NYC) is looking for a customer focused and customer oriented Front Desk Supervisor who fits their culture and can model their values to join a growing team.

The ideal candidate is responsible for direct supervision of all front office personnel and ensures proper completion of all duties. The incumbent would be responsible for directing and coordinating all the activities of the front desk, reservations, scheduling of all pet visits and scheduling of shifts. Prepare monthly reports and budget for the department.

Role Description and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the overall running of the front desk department by aiding in hiring, selection and training all agents.

  • Responsible for the development and monitoring of the budget to provide top quality customer service.

  • Act as a change agent in leading by example

  • Assessing front desk staff performance and provide coaching and guidance to ensure maximum efficiency

  • Mastermind creative ways to deliver an exceptional client experience to pet owners and customers.

  • Ensure the smooth and adequate flow of information within the company to facilitate other business operations

  • Provides executive level support to the Chief Executive Officer regarding employee issues.

  • Create monthly and quarterly departmental reports to determine whether KPIs are being met and where there is room for improvement.

  • Ensures that appropriate safety and health policies, procedures and programs are effectively implemented; that adequate resources and priority are assigned to correcting hazardous conditions, and that applicable safety program activities are carried out in the store.

  • Support The Bark Shoppe team with other daily tasks if and when needed.

Experience and Education

  • Associates Degree in Management or Bachelors Degree in Administration or related field

  • Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years experience in front desk operations of which at least three (2) should be in leadership roles.

  • Prior experience in a pet care facility is an advantage.

  • In-depth understanding of office management procedures and customer relations

  • Should possess strong problem solving skills and the ability to use analytical skills to make sound judgment.

  • Emotionally intelligent 

  • Apply collaborative work strategies and gain the cooperation of employees at all levels.

  • Available to work weekends

  • Being bilingual is a plus

Working Days/Hours

  • The shop is open Sunday-Saturday. This position requires you to work 40 hours a week. Weekend availability is a must.
