Summary and Corporate Profile:

Our client, a behavioral and mental health care provider based in Charlotte, North Carolina is currently seeking a Certified Peer Support Specialist.

The ideal candidate should have the ability to deliver services that are focused on the participant and not on their diagnosis with the emphasis of aiding in building rehabilitation skills. S(he) should be able to teach and emphasize use of coping skills for management of symptoms, accessing community resources, development of supports, and ability to respond to crisis challenges of participants.

Role Description and Responsibilities

  • Attend and actively participate in weekly Peer Support staff Team Meetings

  • Attend and actively participate in individual supervisions

  • Attend and actively participate in collaborations, treatment teams, and agency meetings 

  • Provide input into goal reviews through the person-centered process during participant team meetings.

  • MUST be able to submit progress notes within 24 to 48 hours of date of service in participant’s permanent record that align with working on plan goals and participants response to goals

  • Submit clinical forms, paperwork, and report(s) according to deadlines

  • Submit all Timesheets, Mileage, and other assigned paperwork according to deadlines

Experience and Education

  • High school diploma or general equivalence degree (GED) 

  • NC Certification for Certified Peer Support Specialists

  • Preferred for candidates to have at least 6 mos to a year paid experience with adults with SPMI

  • Completed and maintains required trainings set forth by NC Division of Medical Assistance Clinical Coverage Policy 8G

  • Complete all agency in-house or registered trainings

  • Work within the scope of training and knowledge based on level of education and certification

Salary and Benefits

  • $15 to 19 hours Part-time Position
