JOB TITLE:  Business Developer Manager

Role Objective


A start-up bakery is seeking an energetic Business Development Manager to create and build client relationships while sponsoring interaction to obtain projects. S/he will be tasked with establishing systems and structures to assist with the growth of the business. This role assists in developing and facilitating the proposal process for specific clients/sponsors including budget and pricing development, proposal writing, contract negotiations and client presentations.  




  • Develop goals and objectives that tend to growth and prosperity.

  • Implement business plans and strategies to promote the attainment of company goals.

  • Ensure that the company has the adequate and suitable resources to complete its activities (e.g. people, material, equipment etc.)

  • Organize and coordinate operations in ways that ensure maximum productivity.

  • Supervise the work of other employees and provide feedback and counsel to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Maintain relationships with partners/vendors/suppliers.

  • Gather, analyse and interpret external and internal data and write reports.

  • Assess overall company performance against objectives.

  • Represent the company in events, conferences etc.

  • Ensure adherence to legal rules and guidelines.


Qualifications required


  • A minimum of a first Degree required.

  • At least 1-3 years working experience in sales/marketing or Business Development is preferred.

  • Must be energetic and self-motivated.

  • Must be able to work with less or no supervision.

  • Must pay close attention to details.

  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and spoken.

  • Good marketing research skills.

  • Relationship management skills and good negotiation skills.


Experience in on-line marketing (Social media savvy) will be an added advantage.

GHc 700-GHc 1000 depending on Experience. Communication Allowance will also be paid monthly.


Hours of Operation


For the initial four months, the Business Development Manager will work three times a week with two Saturdays at least in a month. After the first four months, the contract/part time role will be full time i.e. Monday to Friday with weekend work only when necessary. The employees salary will also be reviewed based on satisfactory performance of the contract period.
