Summary and Corporate Profile:

Our client, a reputable global FMCG (specifical beverage) is looking for a Business Manager in Ghana to oversee all the Commercial related activities for its energy drink brand.

He/She will work in the company’s regional office overseeing the Commercial Operations for the energy drink brand across the West Africa Countries(WAC Region).

Role Description and Responsibilities

1. Operate as a vital link across all departments within Brands Europe ltd & ECCBC Bottler team

  • Delivery Key performance indicators in WAC Region 

  • Deliver monthly sell in/sell out volume targets as per Business plan for WAC

  • Establish and implement best practices, including continuous improvement by using alternative views such as analysis models (diagrams), prototypes or scenarios where appropriate.

  • Review all P & L elements and offer pro-active measurements, ideas and reactive solutions to improve profitability

  • Provide analysis and interpretation of internal/external market data, highlighting any underlying trends to identify new market opportunities and recommend strategies to increase the organization’s profitability.

  • Recommend changes to current portfolio & participates in new product development (NPD) process.

  • Recommend changes in promotional efforts based on market research and thorough analysis of sales financials

  • Recommend changes to current sales techniques or sales procedures based on thorough analysis of sales data

 

2. Distribution partner management

  • Set up a positive business and personal relationship with ECCBC (WAC Bottler Distribution Partner team)

  • Agree with DP monthly KPIs and ensure they are clearly communicated and cascaded to the field teams;

  • Regularly analyze distribution potential growth & coverage, recommending appropriate actions

  • Regularly instruct/train DP sales teams on the brands Merchandising standards (assortment, planograms, point of sales, and coolers standards) in all channels;

  • Control the achievement of ME targets on POS and coolers placement by month and by channel;

  • Together with DP evaluate efficiency of the consumer promotions and prepare proposals of its improvement;

  • Prepares and carries out motivation/incentive programs DP’s sales personnel and key customers

  • Regularly analyze rate of sales and recommend actions for improvement

  • Support the DP Sales Force Team in developing the right ambitions, joint business plans, distribution targets, listings and promotions for all key accounts in all channels / regions

 

3. Financial and Budget management:

  • Propose required budget and spend in line with budget approved for assigned country

  • Ensure utilization of the budgets strictly in line with ME guidelines, approved amounts and allocation by customers;

  • Review monthly financials and sales reports to determine opportunities for improvements based on efficiency and adjustments in consumer and customer demand, as well as brand/item performance and pricing.

  • Review and evaluate pricing based on analysis of competition, gross margin, and PTC’s.

 

4. Planning and Reporting

  • Own WAC annual business planning process working together with DP

  • Maintain internal templates and calendars to monitor, track and evaluate activity and decisions. Prepare presentations for DP quarterly updates about ME new products, initiatives and activities & monthly /quarterly reviews

  • Manage and generate sales forecasts with country management teams and align with Supply Chain/Logistics Department to offer suggestions as to the results of any change in forecast.

  • Ensure timely, correct and complete daily, weekly and monthly set of reports; Track and analyze competition market-share, numeric distribution, price, rate of sales, etc.

  • Maintain reporting and analyze monthly performance of each Key customer and each regions & territory

 

The Ideal Experience:

  • Significant sales experience (Key account and Field sales Management) in FMCG and preferably beverages

  • Experience in managing a distribution system (vs managing sales direct to customers)

  • Demonstrated capability to manage a P&L and solid understanding of commercial finance

  • Experience of managing a field sales team directly and influence the sales force of a DP/wholesalers

  • Ability to combine strong commercial senses with good appreciation of brand building and marketing.

  • Exceptional analytical skills, time management, and customer service skills

  • Strong verbal and written communications/presentation skills effective across a broad range of audiences

  • Experience of interacting with and in an international matrix organization
